The main character yearns for a girl, the memory of her following him frequently in his youth. I wanted to show the idea of existentialism, death and self-destruction through smoking, paralelling this activity with his obsessive love for the mystifying girl.

I wanted to use the idea of smoking on this cover, as the main character frequently smokes and because of the symbolic nature of it. When you are young you are careless so you cannot yet see the smoky, uncertain future and its consequences.
